Here's why people are giving out about this fatphobic 'chunky dunk' diet planner

“I want to skinny dip, not chunky dunk.”

FOX AND MOON are a stationery company who make, among other things, “sassy” food planners with supposedly motivational phrases like “Stop Rewarding Yourself With Food, You Are Not A Dog!” printed on the front.

Earlier today, Charlotte Moor, a plus size fashion influencer, shared images of the diaries on Twitter and pointed out how the planners essentially demonised fatness and presented it as being undesirable, while also promoting an unhealthy relationship to food.

It’s body-shaming masquerading as fitspiration and many have pointed out that it could be hugely harmful for people struggling with eating disorders.

One of the offending diaries has the phrase, “I Want To Skinny Dip Not Chunky Dunk,” printed on the cover. (As if a “chunky dunk” doesn’t sound like way more fun than a “skinny dip” anyway.)

In response, many women shared photos of themselves proudly “chunky dunking”.

Pro-tip: maybe don’t profit off people’s insecurities by pitting body types against each other, yeah?
